VP of Engineering

As our VP of Engineering, you will build a team, implement best engineering practices, hop on integration calls, and be a leader when it comes to feature development and architecture design. You also aren't afraid to get your hands dirty and dive into the code yourself. We are currently a small, tight-knit team, so strong communication skills are a must.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading design and implementation of new features and iterations of our core platform
  • Owning our product roadmap
  • Ensuring smooth integrations with all of our card issuer partners and merchant partners
  • Developing Kard's core infrastructure to be scalable and reliable
  • Guiding our current engineering team and eventually building out a team
  • Designing new iterations of our internal APIs
  • Protecting the credentials to access Kard’s (and customer's, where applicable) networks, systems and data.
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of all Kard’s customer data to which you are granted access and reporting any suspected compromises of Kard’s proprietary data or customer data
  • Adhering to Kard’s Information Security Policy and Procedures

You have experience:

  • Running a live product supporting millions of customers
  • Building web applications, with extensive experience in Javascript (we use Node, Angular and React)
  • Using NoSQL databases (we use MongoDB)
  • Working with large financial institutions and their technology
  • Building scalable, reliable distributed systems intended for cloud deployments (AWS preferred)
  • Leading and building an engineering organization, preferably in startups or finance

Bonus points:

  • Previous experience handling transaction data
  • Previous startup experience

Backend/DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a Backend/DevOps Engineer with 2+ years of experience supporting a live product who is eager to get in on the ground floor.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Architecting and implementing multi-cloud solutions for API services and consumer-facing web applications
  • Running cloud-based devops and infrastructure build-outs and maintenance
  • Monitoring the production systems on a daily basis and responding to security/usability concerns
  • Protecting the credentials to access Kard’s (and customer's, where applicable) networks, systems and data.
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of all accessible customer data
  • Adhering to Kard’s Information Security Policy and Procedures

You have experience:

  • Deep understanding of distributed cloud architectures and best practices
  • Experience with AWS – specifically EC2, API Gateway, Cognito, Lambda, CloudFront, SFTP, SQS, etc.
  • Desire to be involved in product definition and card issuer partner integrations
  • A love for automation
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, Node, and React

Bonus points:

  • Experience with webhook and event-based architectures
  • Experience with Linux image management (Docker, AMIs)
  • Extensive JavaScript knowledge
  • Experience with MongoDB
  • Familiarity with REST concepts

Account Executive

We are looking for 1-2 Account Executives to help us sign merchant partners as our demand on the financial institution side grows rapidly. You will be an integral part of closing brand partnerships and expanding upon existing partnerships.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Closing consumer-facing merchants deals (think companies like 7-11, Wendy’s, Target, Starbucks, and Sephora)
  • Nurturing signed partnerships to maximize the relationship as Kard grows
  • Creatively brainstorming new angles and campaigns for partnerships to increase revenue for both the brand and Kard

You'll have:

  • Prior experience with card-linked offers
  • A track record of hunting big deals and exceeding quotas
  • A self-starter mentality - you're ok with building the process out as we grow
  • Experience doing whatever it takes to get your foot in the door without needing associates to work for you (until we build out the team even more to support you and the rest of the sales team!)

Bonus points:

  • Contacts at household brand names across consumer verticals that you can close quickly
  • Early stage startup experience
